複合關係代名詞

在who, which, what, whose, whom加上ever即成複合關係代名詞。其本身兼做先行詞及關係代名詞。

1.引導名詞子句（複合關係代名詞＝先行詞＋關係代名詞）

Whoever comes will be hospitably treated.（= Anyone who comes…）

2.引導副詞子句（～ever = no matter～）

Whoever（=No matter who）may say so, he will not believe it.

Whatever（=No matter what）you may say, I shall go there.

3.whoever, whichever, whatever可作關係形容詞。

You may take whichever course you think the best.（=…any course that…）

準關係代名詞

1.as：

前面有as，such，the same時，引導形容詞子句的關係代名詞用as。

He is as diligent a man as ever lived.

He went away the same way as he had come.

2.but：

but本身含有否定的意思，相當於that…not, who…not, which …not, 它前面的主要子句須有否定詞（如no, not, scarcely, hardly等）。

He is not such a fool but can see the truth.（=…a fool who can not see the truth.）

3.than：

先行詞有比較級形容詞修飾時，關係代名詞應該用than。

You have more money than I have.
